Due to Gridiron’s proven reputation for delivering high-quality, real-world training to public safety professionals across California, we were asked to lead the launch of FRDOA. The demand was clear—and immediate.
We’re proud to announce that FRDOA officially launches in June 2025, backed by a powerhouse Advisory Board that includes command-level leaders from LAPD, LAFD, USC Executive Leadership, and respected figures from law enforcement, fire, emergency services, and the utilities sector from around the state. This diverse and experienced group will guide our direction, ensuring that FRDOA reflects the needs of the entire statewide UAV community.
FRDOA is open to all First Responders, which includes but is not limited to Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Utility Operators, Search and Rescue Teams, and EMS. FRDOA will provide specialized training for Law enforcement and Fire members and we will provide them with focussed training related to their specific missions, such as scenarios emulating real life situations. If you're a First responder, Search and Rescue or responders during a natural disaster, FRDOA welcomes you as a member and values your training, knowledge and expertise.
Membership gives you access to exclusive resources built for first responders operating drones:
At $199 per year, membership offers unmatched value and direct access to a community shaping the future of UAV deployment for first responders.
Disclaimer: First Responder Drone Operator Association subsidiary of Gridiron Training Inc. Training provided by FRDOA that contains Law Enforcement Sensitive (LES) information and active incident debriefs involving the use of UAV will be restricted solely to the Law Enforcement Operators. FRDOA may verify your current employment upon your purchase of a membership.
